Brent Combrink has 30 years’ experience in the minerals processing industry. His experience spans three key fields: operations, academic and manufacturing. He has spent the last 13 years with Multotec in various roles but his major focus is now on Sales and Training.
Thomas Holtz

Thomas Holtz is the Chief Executive Officer of the Multotec Group of Companies. He has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering as well as a post-Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering. Thomas has occupied the position of CEO since 2008 and aims to uphold his favourite quote “be the change you want to see in the world” in his work; and to inspire every member of the Multotec team, from technicians to managers, to do the same.

Carl Bergmann

Carl Bergmann currently holds the position of senior technical specialist at Mintek. He is a qualified chemical engineer with 30 years’ experience in physical separation and mineral processing technologies. His main focus has been in modelling of physical separation processes.
Andrew McNally
IMS
Andrew McNally boasts an enviable Process Engineering background and has worked at IMS Engineering for 14 years in the Capital Equipment Sales Department. Andrew’s primary focus is on the sales of crushing equipment and solutions. He has extensive experience in the application of a broad range of crushing equipment in a wide range of mineral processing industries. Andrew, who is based in the United Kingdom’s current role within the organization is International Sales Manager for IMS Engineering’s range of compression crushers in the Americas and Eurasia.
Alan Boylston

Alan Boylston holds a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and has over 24 years experience in minerals processing. Over the last 2 and a half decades Alan has gained a unique perspective on the industry with successful roles as an engineering consultant with Hatch in the USA, Canada and Australia, as an Owner’s Engineer with Global Alumina in France, as a Process Specialist in operations with Rio Tinto in Australia, and currently as the Head of Process Engineering and Test Centers for Metso:Outotec in the USA. Alan was recently awarded the 2020 CEEC Medal for Operations for his paper “Reducing Energy and Water Consumption through Alternative Comminution Circuits”. The paper was presented at the SAG conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2019.
Dusty Jacobson

Dusty Jacobson holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Platteville in USA and has 17 years of experience in crushing and screening. Starting in the Mineral Research & Test Center doing lab scale and pilot scale testing, he then spent three years in crushing/screening plant design before switching to a focused role on crushers for mining, where he has continued for the last ten years. The roles have given extensive field experience, as well as deep involvement on projects and development of new equipment.
Francois Fouche

Francois Fouche started his career in the mining industry with Anglo American in 1992. He joined the screening division of Multotec in 1996 and became responsible for national sales of screen media in 2007. He moved to Vibramech in 2010 where he sold vibrating screens to processing plants in Africa. He re-joined Multotec in 2017 as a screening specialist and promotes Multotec screen media in international markets.
Roy Roche

Roy Roche is the Vice President - Screening for the Multotec Group of Companies. Roy started his career in the diamond and coal industries and then joined Multotec in 1980. Roy has a lifetime's experience in the screening of fines and has lead development teams for Multotec on 3 continents.
Ernst Bekker

Ernst Bekker, B. Ing (Extractive metallurgy), ND (Fuel Technology) holds the position of product specialist - Cyclones After completing his studies Ernst spent 5 years in the coal industry. In 1998 he joined Multotec as a process engineer where he later became process manager of the Cyclone division. Between 2007 and 2009 Ernst joined Bateman Engineering as senior process engineer (Diamonds Division) where he was involved in design, commissioning and consulting on dense medium processes. During this period he was involved in designs on gold, chrome, platinum, coal, andulasite and diamond operations. In 2009 he re-joined Multotec as process manager where the primary focus was on the integration of Multotec equipment into flow sheets, liaising with potential clients and consulting and optimising operations. In his current role of product specialist – Cyclones the scope now also includes product development and the mentoring of process engineers and client training. Ernst is considered to be one of the world's leading experts in all industries that utilise dense medium cyclones, classification cyclones and milling cyclones.
Refentse Molehe

Refentse Molehe currently holds the position of process engineer in Multotec's Gravity Division. She is a qualified metallurgical engineer with an in interest in new product development. Her main focus has been in plant and process design for spiral concentrators.
Hlayisi Baloyi

Hlayisi Baloyi is an applications engineers at Multotec focussing on spirals. A chemical engineer with 8 years’ experience of servicing the mining industry covering PGMs, base metals and coal mines. His focus is providing technical support to spiral plant operations with focus on optimisation and product improvement.
Raymond Fourie
Multotec
Raymond Fourie currently holds the position of junior process engineer in Multotec's Research and Development facility . He holds a BEng in chemical engineering specialising in minerals processing. He has over 2 years’ experience in minerals processing technologies. His main focus has been in fines recovery of heavy minerals in the mineral sands industry.
Graeme Smith

Graeme Smith's role at Multotec is that of international business development manager - Africa and Eurasia. He is an experienced development engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the mining & metals industry.
Nathan Musson
Afriforesight
Nathan Musson is Afriforesight’s Chief Economist. He holds a BSc in Mathematics and a BCom (Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town, with expertise in survey data analysis and incorporating the findings into complex mathematical models. He has been researching the global economy, commodities, and materials at Afriforesight for many years, quickly working up the ranks, and played an integral role in building the forecasting model used by the Presidency and Minerals Council during the Mining Phakisa.
Gerrit du Plessis

Gerrit du Plessis holds the position of product specialist for Solid/Liquid Separation at Multotec. He has 25 years’ experience in solid/liquid separation technology such as filtration and sedimentation equipment. His main focus had been application and product support in various industries over the years.
Khathutshelo Mutshinyalo
Multotec
Khathutshelo Mutshinyalo has 8 years’ experience in the hydrometallurgy and minerals processing industry. His experience includes research and development, process optimisation for base and precious metals and solid/liquid separation. He holds a Bsc (Hons) in chemical engineering and has worked for Mintek for a period of 4 years and currently working for Multotec.
Vincent Ridgard

Vincent Ridgard currently holds the position of Process Engineer in Multotec's Solid/Liquid Separation division. He is a qualified chemical engineer with 4 years experience in water treatment plant design and precious metals recovery technologies. His main focus has been in designing fit for purpose water treatment technologies for all areas of the mining sector.
Andrew Copeland

Mr. Andrew Copeland is a Director of KP RSA and the Technical Director Mining (Non-Statutory) of KP Africa and is based at Knight Piésold’s Head Office (Rivonia). He has had extensive exposure to the international mining industry and to the full chain of mining activities and project stages for over 30 years. Andrew is a technical specialist in the area of mineral residue management and has a thorough understanding of the associated infrastructure, environmental, social and economic aspects, including filtered, paste and thickened tailings. He has substantial experience in civil geo-technics, heap leach facilities and mine infrastructure, with a master’s degree in mine-backfill. Andrew has also written guidelines and standards for mine residue facilities and carried out numerous audits and design reviews around the world. He is Engineer of Record on a number of large tailings facilities in Southern Africa.
Willem Slabbert

Willem Slabbert has 10 years industry experience in mineral processing, with OEM equipment supply his forte. He is employed with Multotec as a product specialist for both sampling and magnetic separation equipment. His experience with fines processing includes a technical paper on WHIMS treatment of fine chrome.
